How do I adopt a pet?

Adopting a dog is a decision that should be made with care and deliberation. A dog is not a toy or a clothing accessory; it’s a living creature. The decision to adopt a dog should be treated with the same careful attention that you would use if you were deciding where to live, to have children, or whether or not to get married.

If you are ready to adopt please fill out the Adoption Form and send it to us, we will arrange an appointment with you where you can come and visit the dogs at the shelter to find the right dog for.

Are there any adoption requirements?

Our Dogs are mostly rescued from a terrible and life threatening time of their life, we therefore want to make sure that they have the same happy life that they have with us.

We therefore ask for your understanding that we will not place them in a home where they are kept on chain or a small cage all day long. They need a secure compound to be able to run freely and kept/treated as members of the family with care and lots of love.

You must be able to feed good food twice daily and they need to have water available at all times
We do not allow breeding from any of our rescue dogs and encourage neutering all other owned dogs too.
You need to  vaccinat them annually and treat them regularly parasite preventative (flea/tick treatment and worming)

How to avoid picking the wrong pet?

Don’t make an impulse decision on-site. It can be overwhelming at the shelter when there are so many adorable furry faces begging you to “pick me pick me” and take them home! If you get emotional in the shelter setting, take a more objective family member or friend along to make sure you are making as good and rational choice of a match for your lifestyle and pet experience.

Don’t adopt a new pet without doing some self reflection, planning and research first. How much time do you have in your life right now to bring in a new pet that may require training? Are you financially ready if your new pet is injured, or gets sick?

Vet Q&A: Are pets for adoption healthy?

All our dogs are vaccinated according to their age against rabies and DHLP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvovirus) and treated against worms.

In case any of the dogs is having a health issue we will let you know what further treatment is required
