Taji

Taji, the queen of the shelter!

In September 2016 Taji was found paralysed in a ditch, most likely after she was hit by a car. She was heavily pregnant at the time. Still a young dog of about 2 years, she was fighting to live, but sadly all her puppies were born premature and she never regained the use of her back legs.

Taji was our first disabled dog with a wheelchair and she changed the view of many people regarding the quality of life of a handicapped dog and cleared the way for all her fellow disabled dogs and cats to come.

Today, Taji is the unchallenged queen of our shelter pack. It is amazing and fascinating to see, how all the dogs respect her as the leader. Even the new ones know it by instinct, they don’t care about size or disabilities.

Taji found her home with us and she will be a resident here for the rest of her life. We love her dearly and dare we say that she loves us, which isn’t true for some visitors she had to reprimand But hey: she is the queen!
